How to: DIY Eye Cream for Puffy Eyes

khiels-eye-de-puffer-creamI
have a puffy eye problem.  I get super puffy under my eyes when I’m not taking great care of myself. Lack of sleep, excess salt, alcohol, carb-overloading….and I wake up punished, with swollen pillows under my eyes. It has driven my CRAZY my entire life, until I discovered CAFFEINATED EYE CREAM. This stuff is a miracle. I never fully believed a product would cure my puffs, I thought I would have to live with this the rest of my life. Then I read a beauty interview with Manrepeller‘s Leandra Medine, in it she mentioned that Kiehl’s Facial Fuel Eye De-Puffer worked for her under-eye swelling. So I took a chance, because I figured if I can’t trust Leandra, I can’t trust anyone. Sure enough, this stuff worked instantly. I could feel the cooling of the product under my eyes, and no joke, it rid me of puffiness within 15 minutes of application. Problem solved. Puffies, begone!

My only issue was that I was blowing through this stuff–it’s sold in such a tiny tube, I ended up buying 2 or 3 each month to support Project De-Puff. It’s not overly buy viagra safely online expensive, but it’s also not cheap. So after a little research and learning that the active ingredient in this product is caffeine, I developed a (super easy) recipe that works just as well, and is very inexpensive to make!

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Caffeine natural coffee bean extract (powder form)
Your favorite moisturizer (I use my standard daily oil-free Alba moisturizer)
A few drops of jojoba oil, grape seed oil or similar
1 oz cosmetic jar
A toothpick for mixingFill the jar with your favorite moisturizer, about 3/4th of the way full. Add 1/2 teaspoon of caffeine extract powder to the jar and stir with a toothpick until thoroughly mixed and you can’t see any powder remaining. Add a few drops of jojoba oil (or similar oil) to help thin the mixture, stir again until consistency is smooth. Apply on under-eye area as needed, and watch your puffies vanish!

I always prefer to make my own beauty products when I can, that way I know I’m not using any excessive ingredients that I don’t like or need. Let me in know in the comments if this recipe helps your puffy eyes!
