Palm Springs Paradise

Palm Springs Paradise - SISOO.com

I love going to Palm Springs. It’s only a few hours drive from Los Angeles and it feels like a far away dream place. Truth: I’ve only been for a few days here and there in the 11 months I’ve lived on the west coast, but when I’m there my insides just feel peaceful. I’m a New Yorker who grew up in the snow and cold, and always vacationed on east coast beaches. So there is something so unique and intoxicating about spending time in the desert. I can’t wait to find more time to explore my new happy place.

I strongly recommend the avocado toast at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club. (Bring the dog! They have a pet-friendly patio.) I also love strolling through downtown, which is small & friendly and makes me wonder how I have spent my entire adult life in major metropolises. I love mid-century house stalking through Twin Palms, Deepwell and Sunmor neighborhoods. The architecture is an obvious jaw-dropping experience but also–the landscaping standard is so high (keep your eyes peeled for rock & crystal gardens abound!). And *everywhere* the bougainvillea overfloweth so abundantly that you might feel the need, as I did, to jump on in too. Be ready to devour an Oreo Mint milkshake from downtown’s Great Shakes…because you haven’t really lived until you have a milkshake with a baby donut on top.

Palm Springs…I love you. Wait for me, I’ll be back, soon….

I am a lifelong New Yorker who recently swapped the subway for the California sunshine. I'm 6'3" tall, and am always working my way through a list of creative projects that's longer than myself. I have a natural curiosity for figuring out how things are made. Currently hooked on Fabletics, dried mango, succulents and my labradoodle. When I'm not blogging here, you can find me creating jewelry, concocting new solid perfumes sticks, freaking out over how much planning has changed my life, and running a busy jewelry supply shop.
