

I’ve been “adult coloring” for a number of years and find it so restorative. If I am feeling anxious or frustrated, I’ll get out my markers (these are my long-time favorites I’ve used since I was a kid!), sit at the kitchen island, light a candle, put on the spa channel on Pandora and color for 20 minutes. I also use a timer, otherwise I might color for 3 hours!
These sessions are my way of meditating. My brain melts into a creative flowy puddle. I enter a super quiet state, my mind escapes only to the colors and the lines, I am completely present. I swear some creative happy chemicals are released in my brain too… When I’m done coloring, my energy and clarity sky-rocket. I tell ya, it’s like magic!
Try coloring for a week! Set aside 20 minutes each morning or night. I promise your brain will love it and you will notice a difference in your energy and clarity.
