I’ve been having an ongoing debate with a friend of mine about whether your dog(s) should be allowed in your bed. They are dirty, smelly and if they shed, can leave hair all over your bedding. My friend is adamant about no dogs in bed, as in he has absolutely zero tolerance. To that I say, WHATEVER MAN. Dolly has been cuddling in bed with me since she stopped crate training at 1 year (she’s 5 now). She also doesn’t shed, so I’m usually like hey girl, wanna get under the covers too? Just kidding, but not really. I wake up with a huge smile every morning to find her snuggled in close to me, most often in hilarious positions–like belly up in the air, or big spooning me. I wouldn’t have it any other way. To me, cuddling in bed is one of the best benefits of having a pet!
She knows the bed is not off limits, so I find her there a lot. Chewing on her bone, stealing my sneakers and removing the inserts, or her favorite–wiping her face on my white duvet after her dinner. I feed her home-cooked hamburger with canned pumpkin and Dinovite supplements (which I swear by if your dog has any allergies, it has helped her in so many ways). She goes nuts for the cooked meat (I make it once a month and freeze it). Plus now I call her the Hamburglar, she kind of looks like him, right? But I digress. My point is, she loves to rub that darn little face into my clean white bedspread after she feasts. Side to side, up and down, my duvet cover is her dang napkin. It’s a good thing she’s so cute….
But I don’t want you to worry, or be grossed out. It’s all good! It’s OK! Because I’ve discovered the premium pet cleaning products: Skout’s Honor. I love their Stain & Odor Remover. It’s a green (non-toxic, plant-derived, earth-friendly, biodegradable, cruelty-free and safe to use around your pets, family and home!!!), powerful, and works quickly to spot clean her dinner marks in between my weekly washings. (Skout’s Honor works on bigger stains than dinner marks too, if your furbaby is not yet housebroken, this may be your dream product.)
I found Skout’s Honor at my local PetSmart. They have an entire range of products, pictured above are my two favorites. Since Dolly is frequently in the car with me (or her “Wind Machine” as I like to call it), I love to spray the Odor Eliminator on my car mats to keep things smelling fresh. No pets? No problem, their products work great for kids too.
The best part: for every product sold, Skout’s Honor donate a day’s worth of food to a shelter animal. Incredible products and company all around.
Go get you some today!
So what do you think, do you allow your dog in bed with you?
